Comyn was remembered as a svelt man with captivating blue eyes, who worked primarily as an electrician, but supplemented his income by selling women's garments and oven mitts at a local market.

In Vyotsky, Paulini, the small town he lived in, he was described by locals as friendly and courteous.

That was the facade he projected to the outside world.

What the local people were unaware of was the bunker he built 40 feet under his garage, which measured at 100 square feet.

It was used as a prison of sorts, housing five women and a man.

All of them served him as slave laborers.

The women were subordinate to him as sex slaves.

It is unknown when he was inspired to build the bunker,

but it is known that the first victim, Vera Topayyha, was Lord there in summer 1995.

He invited her to his house for a night of partying and drinking.

She imbibed so much vodka, she passed out.

When she woke, she was shackled to a space with dirt walls.

She began to stream.

As she did, a trapdoor sprung open, and Comyn began descending down a wooden ladder.

She begged him to let her go, but in a congenial voice, he explained that she had become his

slave and that it meant she would be indentured into servitude completing manual tasks.

She would also be required to accommodate his sexual demands.
