It is hard to believe every few days another revelation.

And often the revelations are about all these officials lying, lying, and then shutting down,

disappearing, refusing to comment.

And the latest is about the interim fire chief, Ronnie Villanueva.

He took over after Kristen Crowley was fired by Karen Bass.

When Crowley pointed out that Bass had basically defunded the fire department and they didn't have the

personnel or the fire trucks or the mechanics necessary. Of course, Crowley, her sins included

not deploying existing fire trucks and personnel, not following up on the January 1st fire.

And that January 1st fire is looming more and more important as time goes by.

It was set by an arsonist. They caught the arsonist. He's going to go on trial eventually.

And but after they put it out, well, they put it out relatively quickly. It was a small fire

when you talk about acreage. But on January 2nd, January 3rd, and the days following, they were hot spots.

They were hot spots and the firefighters wanted to put them out.

Hot tree stumps, hot rocks, smoke smoldering.

And inexplicably, inexplicably, the battalion chief said, let's go home, roll up the hoses.

And then he had Vynaueva, Ronnie Venaueva.

He claimed that on January 3rd, we cold trailed the fire area.

We went back there again.

We dug it out.

You know, they put their hands to feel for heat.
