Studios in central London. I'm Tim Franks. We're starting in Gaza and it's a story which, to be

honest, we've rather ignored over the last couple of weeks or at least underplayed because of the

war between Israel and Iran.

But we're coming back to it today and indeed devoting a fair bit of the program to it

because of the huge and continuing controversy over the new system of distributing aid there

and the fact that hundreds of people are dying while trying to collect that aid.

There'd be more casualties today.

In 30 minutes, we'll bring you our first interview. We've been trying to get one for weeks now.

The first interview with the head of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation that's running this new system.

The foundation is backed by the US and Israel. We've said that for a while. One of the things

that is new today is that for the first time the US has publicly announced that it's funding it

with a grant of $30 million. The US State Department spokesman is Tommy Pigott.

Ultimately, we want to see aid reach the people of Gaza. The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation has delivered 46 million meals. We've seen that. We want to see aid reach the people of Gaza. The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation has delivered 46 million meals.

We see the $30 million approved.

So that's what the story is here, moving to implement, get those creative solutions in there

to make sure that the aid being distributed is not being looted by Hamas.

I mentioned that the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation is controversial.

Existing aid agencies, including the UN, have decried it for being inadequate, poorly run,

for weaponizing aid, as they put it, or even more dramatically, as the medical charity MSF said today,
