Doesn't really matter whether they flannel when they go on TV. Is he right about that? I think he is broadly right. So far, unless something changes. I mean, at the moment, it doesn't really matter what the Tories say. The national mood is not to

give them a listen. And Labour strategy seems to be, we're so far ahead in the polls, let's not say

anything in case it scares the horses. We're going to win by saying nothing. So we'll just keep

schum. And it doesn't make for a very innovating election campaign.

Well, it doesn't really. We're one week in and it feels like about 10 weeks already.

And we're already just beginning. But I mean, we've got the big debate coming up on Tuesday.

But I mean, these are probably two of the least likely characters that you would ever want to watch in a debate, aren't they?

Well, they're not charismatic and they're not great debaters. If anything, I would think

Mr. Sunak's a bit of a better debater than Mr. Stama. These debates only make a, they

generally don't make much of a difference except to reinforce what voters

already think one way or another. They only make a difference if someone is a clear winner. For

example, Nick Clegg way back in 2010, I agree with Nick, I agree with Nick. Remember that. Or if somebody crashes and

burns, which is what of Republicans are hoping Joe Biden will do in the big American debate

on June the 27th. Absence of that, and I doubt if there'll be a clear winner or if either of them will crash or burn,

it probably won't make much of a difference either way. It'll be interesting, I'll be watching it,

but it probably won't make much of a difference. Well, that is the thing, isn't it? I mean,

a British sort of style of debating is not quite as electrifying as what we'll see in America,

because regardless of what you may think of Biden and or Trump,

that will be an event that probably an awful lot more people will want to see, even from this

country. Yes, well, partly because some people might think that the outcome of the US election

is now more important than our election because, you take the big issues the big defense and

foreign policy issues the geopolitics of our time it seems now whoever wins this election in
