So they, you come back and when you return to civilian life where do you return and what do you start doing?

Well before I, before the war was over and before I was due to come back, in Fojia, Italy, I stood over

a printer. I spoke a little Italian, well enough to be understood by him and we picked letters out it was hand picked letters

his equipment and I wrote a one-page

Petition And I wrote a one page petition to, I wanted to be a publicist because I had one uncle who flicked me a quarter when I was a kid.

And I wanted to be an uncle.

I didn't have another role model. I was a kid of the depression, but if I could flick a quarter to an nephew, that was it.

And he was a press agent, so I wanted to be a press station. I wrote this page. I could I want to be the guy. I don't want to be the guy everybody saying who's that I'm going to be the guy behind him that made it possible for him to be the guy they're saying who's that right anyway I had I had a firm job

he sent it to about 20 public city houses in New York, Chicago, in LA.

I had one firm offer and I had an offer for an interview out of all of that.

And so I became a press agent. I was a press agent for a little while.

And when did the comedy start kicking in?

It really started there because my job was to write funny things for our clients to say in a variety of
