Hello, whinabbers. My name is Jesse Meekin with another episode of the

whinab podcast and I'm here each week to obsess out loud about spending

purposefully, saving aspirationally, and giving joyfully.

It all comes down to just four simple habits of mind.

Last week I talked about how if your money has purpose, then your earning has purpose.

Today I want to reverse that a little bit and make sure I mention to you that earning more does not solve any problems except in one situation.

And I will talk about that first situation.

One situation is you truly need to earn more money.

And I will tell you right now that most of the listeners like the need to

if our anecdotes and numbers are correct

do not have that problem where they truly have an

income issue but there are some where they really need to figure out a short

term but also a long term plan to be able to make more money. So setting that aside, the error that a lot of you and I make is we think because money is stressing us out because money is tight

because we don't have enough money we think more money will solve it and that is a logical conclusion if you

don't have enough one might think that more will do the trick it does not because

you can spend more and that's the problem and if you're spending system thinking mindset practice is

Broken than having more money to spend in a broken way does not produce what more money really could actually produce,

which is something good, something desirable, something you actually want, something that gets you ahead.

So broken spending, when more money is thrown at it, leads to just more broken spending.

And frankly, a lot of times people are quite puzzled by this.

They look at it and they say, I earn a whole hechtun.
