It's final hour reentry Monday, Big Jim Murray alongside of the MAZ chair, Matt McCarthy in the Update Studio.

Mostly football off of the weekend, sort of contrasting Mac Jones and his style

to those of the other young rookie quarterbacks across the league.

Those guys are highlight real guys.

And you saw a lot of highlight real play some those guys over the weekend.

Meanwhile, your guy is the sort of steady, quick release, heady, smart quarterback, but ain't going to run around. He ain't going to why you with his arm or his size or his mobility. And so how do you feel about that? The Pats got it right and the Bale's got it wrong or the direction of the league or the Pats running two counter to the direction of the league, et cetera, et cetera, that thing. Meanwhile, it doesn't feel like Mack Jones has budged Cam Newton out of the first team reps. This joint practice today in Philadelphia went to Cam Newton. He sucked, but he got most, the vast, vast majority of the first team reps with the first offensive line. So there was no movement in terms of the quarterback competition. Mac Jones looked better, but he was going against backups, and Cam Newton still held sway with the ones.

It's got to be so depressing for the likes of Jeff Howe and others that are down there covering the team realizing because, I mean, they said, you know, no, he's pushing Cam, he's pushing Cam, pushing Cam, yeah, like, we're all hoping for this. We're trying to will it to happen, too, guys. but they know watching these joint practices,

who's with the ones is the guy, and it's Cam.

And if it happens tomorrow, it's over.

So all this alleged momentum coming out of the preseason opener on Thursday feels like at this point it's non-existent. Let's see what it looks like tomorrow. We also hit on some Red Soxx and some Celtic stuff. So whatever you want, that's a whole idea, anything from the weekend here on a reentry Monday.
