Hey guys, Joshua Lewis here with Remnant Radio, and I'll tell you about Rimcon this spring in San Diego, California.

0:06.8

The dates are February 5th through the 7th, and the subject of the conference is growing in the Gifts of the Spirit.

0:12.3

You can join us there in person or via live stream, and what you're going to get out of that conference is some serious theological training on the gifts of the Spirit.

0:22.6

What are they? How do they operate?

0:28.1

There's also going to be opportunities to break out and practice spiritual gifts in a kind of biblical,

Hey, everybody, this is Joshua Lewis. And with me in the studio today is Michael Miller. We got the music. Yours true. Do you like that? Do the handclaps in the background? Yeah. Yeah, that's a nice little addition. When did you get that? I don't know. I've had that for a long time. Is it like update and give you new sound effects? No, I add them as I desire. Oh, cool. That's like, you know, R.C. can kind of come in here. I just love that stuff. Anyway, hey, who's listening to me? It's me. Michael Miller. Thanks, Michael. Appreciate that. Got an exciting episode today.

We are going to be talking about moral therapeutic deism.

1:31.7

It's a big fancy word, a big fancy phrase, really.

1:35.5

We're going to be talking about moralism, therapeutic, deism, how that works together,

1:40.5

the moralistic side of it.

1:41.8

We do things that are good because being good

1:44.8

makes life good, therapeutic. There are practices that we do to make us more moral in Deism because

1:50.2

these things somehow appease God. It's an anti-gospel to be firm and to be frank. Not all the

1:57.7

time is it anti-gospel, but often it is. So the narrative in itself, and maybe this is a good way to start the dialogue, is the narrative in itself, I still hear that music. Go away, music.

2:08.8

The narrative itself is contrary to the narrative of the gospel because the moral therapeutic deism is what must we do to be right with God.

2:18.7

And that in itself is a form of practice.

2:22.8

It's not of faith.

2:23.5

It's of action.

2:24.2

I think my hiccup is not all scripture taken out of context would necessarily qualify for therapeutic moral deism, though usually therapeutic moral deism is going to take scripture out of context.
