All right, friends, Greg Kokel here at Sandal Reason, and as I am broadcasting, today is April 1st, April Fool's Day.

And I have two items here that I want to share with you from the news that are in the,

you can't make this up category, that in the truth is stranger than fiction category.

In fact, if I want to tell you this is not an April Fool's prank, you would think it was if you were reflecting on the day I'm broadcasting.

Now, of course, you'll be getting this delivered to you on the second of April,

and some of you might not be listening to it until much later.

But nevertheless, here it is.

And there are two items that, like I said, you can't make this up. There is a California ballot measure that, like I said, you can't make this up.

There is a California ballot measure that is, let's see, what's the wording here?

It has just been kind of received by, submitted to the California Attorney General.

All right.

And these are ballot measures.

Most of states have these things.

This is pure democracy.

In other words, people get to vote on an issue of law, and they just count the votes.

Now, I generally think pure democracy is a bad idea, although there have been a few things that have worked out pretty well, Prop 13 in California, which lowered property taxes substantially because older people as their property was increasing,

property they owned outright, their property taxes were going through this, you know,

skyrocketing, going through the roof, and therefore they were losing their property and thrown on the street. So that was great. Everybody voted because the politicians wouldn't listen, California. But

most of the time, in my opinion, this is a bad idea, because people are too easily fooled.

Now, this particular initiative, I don't know how it's going to go. But I tell you one thing,

if only for one reason, I'm not voting for it.
