Summary

In this week’s episode, Gretchen opens up about one of the hardest losses of her life, saying goodbye to Moose, her soul dog, best friend, and constant companion for nearly a decade. This is a raw, unpolished conversation about grief, love, heartbreak, and what it looks like to lose a dog who felt like family.

She shares the story of Moose’s final days, the devastating decision to let him go, and why being there for your pet in their final moments is the last act of love you can give them. Gretchen also reflects on the weight of grief, how lonely it can feel when life keeps moving around you, and the responsibility that comes with loving and caring for a dog so deeply.

This episode is tender, honest, and incredibly emotional. If you’ve ever loved a pet, lost one, or are facing that heartbreak yourself, this one will stay with you.

If you didn't see it on my Instagram, we lost Moose. And this episode will not

0:26.5

be polished in any way, shape or form. I've said this before on my Instagram, but talking

0:31.8

things out, writing them out is very, very therapeutic for me. So I don't know where this episode will go.

0:40.8

I have a few ideas that I want to chat about,

0:43.3

but there's a chance that this episode is more for me than it is for you.

0:46.2

And that's okay.

0:48.6

And I hope you guys are okay with that.

0:51.7

I also chose to get my eyebrows laminated today. So that's why I look like

0:57.8

this. I'm also kind of cold, but whenever I put a sweater around my shoulders like this, I feel like

1:05.3

a country club motherfucker. And as a child, I did not like the country club motherfuckers. I don't know any right now.

1:11.9

But anyway, forgive me.

1:15.0

I also got this cool microphone cover, but I don't know how to put it on and it keeps slipping off.

1:19.7

So if it falls off in the middle of this, we're just going to pretend that it didn't.

1:23.5

Anyway, I hope everyone is doing okay.

1:25.6

Obviously skipped last week's episode.

1:31.5

So, yeah, I am everyone is doing okay. Obviously skipped last week's episode. So yeah, I am in a crazy season of life right now, I feel. I have never been solo. So I figured why not pick up a microphone

1:39.8

and record it. So I had talked about it on my Instagram, but Moose had been struggling with his back

legs.

1:47.6

They got kind of bad all of a sudden.

1:49.8

We thought that maybe he had torn something.
