That's when it got wheels off. It's so much fun talking to Moon Zappa about her new book, about her upbringing, about her experience in a very singular situation.

She grew up, daughter to Frank Zappa, obviously, but in a family full of artistic weirdos and a town full of artistic weirdos.

And she herself, you know, is a self-proclaimed one of us, as it were.

And she has written a really beautiful, poignant memoir about her life, Earth to Moon, growing up.

And I'm so grateful that she spoke to me.

I think that this is a, you know, a very unique episode of Wheels Off because she has such a distinct take on all of this stuff.

You know, her output as an artist hasn't been as great.

We'll get into why.

But she's working.

She's doing the work, and she's making stuff right now, every day.

And this memoir, while it is clearly, you know, nonfiction and her experiences, it is really very artistically done.

It's very beautiful.

And I just, I think she's so cool.

And I'm really grateful that she took the time to sit down and be a part of the wheels-off continuum,

this great series of conversations I feel so lucky to get to have with artistic folks

about the creative life and the creative process.
