Hello everyone and welcome to slash film daily for Wednesday May 4th, 2022.

0:04.3

On today's episode of the show we are going to have a spoiler-filled conversation about

0:07.9

the season finale of Marvel's Moon Night.

0:11.0

My name is Ben Pearson, I'm an editor at slash film

0:13.0

dot com and I'm joined on today's episode by slash film editor Brad

0:15.8

Omen. Hey that's me. Okay Brad Peter's out sick today unfortunately so he

0:20.4

can't be here and you're stuck with me. I have seen this. I've caught up luckily with the

0:25.8

serious finale of moon night earlier this morning. I've not been, you know, detailing the show or sort of

0:32.0

digging into it nearly as deeply as you and Peter have so hopefully you'll be able to help me out here as we as we go through and talk about this episode.

0:39.3

So normally we have four sections or the feedback section. I think Peter probably has all of that

0:45.0

feedback. He didn't pass any of that along to me so let's just get right into our

0:48.6

reactions. Brad what did you think about the finale of moon night? I thought that it was mostly pretty good I think that the

1:00.0

the final moments of the series kind of it almost feels like it's too abrupt

1:07.3

Even though the in this case the the mid-credit scene does help but I I mean for everything I guess that they needed to

1:15.8

accomplish in this finale they did a pretty good job and in a fairly short amount of time too

1:21.2

I was expecting this to be, you know, like a

1:23.5

full-on hour episode, but everything wrapped up pretty nicely. Yeah, I think that

1:28.5

they did a good job of balancing the, like the comic book spectacle of it all with the emotional core that has been there from the beginning

1:37.7

But I think that this finale ultimately still kind of leaned into what was some of the things that we've been talking

1:44.6

about throughout this podcast and that I think that this probably could have easily

1:47.3

been a movie instead of a TV series. I'm wondering if maybe the only reason it's a TV series is because it's a little more

1:56.3

experimental and not quite the same kind of like blockbuster level Marvel stuff you expect to see in a movie and it might have been too risky box office
