Good Morning Bucknotters. It is Friday June 17th, 2022. I am Dan Rubin. This is the Bucknotts Morning 5 and change.

I am limping to the finish line here. Fifth show in five days.

I don't have a lot of joy. Is there anything like that? But I've brought in the man Steve Hellwagon to provide me some backup today, Steve.

You look like you're resting inside in some air conditioning much better than the rest of our staff.

Yeah, no doubt. It's been a rough week. I'll just say that Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, three days at the Ohio State Camp.

Tuesday and Wednesday were regular camp dates. Thursday was the 7 on 7 and temperatures in the 90s all three days.

Tuesday to me was the worst because it was the first day of it. On Wednesday, you're kind of like resigned to it.

You knew that it was actually hotter on Wednesday, but my body maybe had acclimated a little bit to it, I guess by then.

But those kids, I give the Ohio State staff credit. They do not shortchange the kids just because the conditions are not good.

They are in the trenches with these guys teaching them on every rep. Doesn't matter if it's an eighth grader from racing Southern or if it's somebody that they're trying to get as a scholarship player to Ohio State.

So they really give extra effort at these camps that it's worthwhile to be taught by the very best.

So a lot of Mac coaches around as well. And so a lot of good teaching at these camps.

You want to talk about something that the pandemic took care of these camps. They're great for Ohio State.

Like you mentioned, but most of the kids at the camp obviously are not going to get an offer from Ohio State.

And they're really just showing off for other coaches who were there.

Other guys, keep in mind, coaching is a very tight fraternity. And there's calls being made from Ohio State coaches to other guys about guys they liked that maybe couldn't make mustard Ohio State.

So the pandemic killed that the kids came back, although I know that for one of the days they scheduled 150 kids and about 90 showed up because of the heat.

Yeah.

So you get a check mark next to your name just for effort on that day.

I think they're trying to find out who's a dog who can go out under extreme conditions and really do the job.
