Montana has become the first US state to ban TikTok.

That law signed yesterday by Republican governor Greg Gianforte would bar TikTok from operating in the state and forbid app stores,

There's nothing in the bill text that says exactly how this is going to be implemented.

So I talked to the author of the bill and she said this puts the onus on not operating in Montana on TikTok itself.
