| 0:00.0 | This is Money Moves on B-Sin, the Sportsbetting Network. |
| 0:10.0 | What's up, folks? |
| 0:10.9 | Welcome in another awesome edition of Money Moose. |
| 0:13.1 | Jonathan Von Toble, flying solo for today. |
| 0:15.7 | Stormy Bonatoni out on assignment. |
| 0:17.9 | We'll check in with Stormy throughout the week and see what's going on and where she's at, maybe a little bit of a rehashing of where in the world is Stormy Bonnet. Tony, but we do have a good show on tap today. I feel like, even though, look, I have not been drinking for over a month now, feel a little hungover after what was an insane weekend, a fun weekend, despite this course that maybe the NCAA tournament does not deliver anymore. It's all about the camaraderie, and it was a great four days, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We got to look back. We got to look ahead. We got to get to the NBA, maybe a little NHL if we have time, so let's not waste any more of it and get right to it. It's time for the top headlines and topics of the day. This is the rundown. Look, it's time of year to handicaps of basketball games, so let's get some handicappers in here. We've got a ton of them today. Paul Stone, yet again, the leader right now in the Circa College Hoops Challenge. We're all chasing Paul. And I told our crew earlier today, if I lose to this man again, I don't know what I'll do. One of our many handicappers that's going to be joining us, Matt Eumens, of course, of the Vegas Stats and Information Network will be with us. And Christmas, ero, a contested in the Circuit College Hoops challenge as well. The commonality between those three and I were all competing for first place in the challenge. We also have a great slate of guests in terms of the NBA. |
| 1:29.3 | Coming up a little bit later today, Mitch Lawrence, who's been joining us with some regularity from Series XMNBA. Give us a download on what's been going on with the Los Angeles Lakers and more. They're in action later tonight against the Detroit Pistons. Not as sexy. No Kate Cunningham. We've got a lot of handicappers to walk us through what's going to be a good slate of Sweet 16 action. |
| 1:45.5 | Also on deck, that monster NBA card. Yeah, there's a lot of double-digit favorites and there's a pretty good opportunity here to put together the brain dead money line parlay of all the favorites against these teams that are tanking and maybe add a little bit more here or there. But there's a lot to get to when it comes to the association. We can also dive a little bit deeper into this 9-0 straight up and ATS run from the Los Angeles Lakers. Luca Dodgich going absolutely insane. We'll tell you if it's sustainable and when it might end as we dive into their matchup and much more. Don't forget to Clippers in action tonight against against some walkie buck, but one of those double-digit favorites. But last and certainly not least, and where we begin our show today, it's simple, it's sweet. It's sweet. It's the sweet 16. Sweet 16 all set after four days of action in the NCAA tournament to open us up. And before we get to some of the individual matchups, we got to talk about what we have seen up to this point. You're not going to hear anything for me that maybe you haven't heard |
| 2:37.3 | already, but it has been very, very chalky to this point in the NCAA tournament. As of today, |
| 2:43.6 | Sunday favorites, let's go back one day first. You saw this in the newsletter, which you can sign up |
| 2:47.4 | for free over at vason.com. 7-1 straight up yesterday, Sunday favorites, 6-1-1 against the spread. |
| 2:53.9 | That brings you to favorites in the tournament at 39 and 9 straight up, 27, 19, and 2 ATS, |
| 3:00.0 | unders for those who are keeping track, very slight edge, |
| 3:02.6 | at least in terms of the record, at 25 and 23. |
| 3:05.9 | But the question now becomes, as we are prone to do, and I say we, all of us, hey, man, maybe we're just going to bet favorites from here on out. I think that this is now where we start to see this turn a little bit as we head into the Sweet 16. Part of what we have seen, I believe, over the first four days of the NCAA tournament, is some of the, we'll call it ill effects of the NIL era, which is, hey, teams at the top can buy some of the best talent. If you're transferring from the lower levels, you're transferring up and you're playing for some of these teams. These are some really talented groups at the top of the NCAA tournament in terms of seeding. But now that we have eliminated essentially all of the weaker seeds, not all of them, some are still around, and we have obviously still have room for some upsets, as we'll get into with Florida coming up here in a moment. But I do think that this is now going to be where we start to see this flip a little bit. We'll talk about the overall adjustments. Some of these favorites now, too, and where we're at, |
| 3:57.9 | obviously, some shorter point spreads here in the round of 16, as these teams are much |
| 4:01.3 | closer to each other in a neutral court setting. But this is where I start to think we see some |
| 4:06.4 | variance here. Going into the weekend after the first two rounds, and I was talking with Mitch |
| 4:09.9 | Moss yesterday at a local spot. We were out watching games that there was no real part of me going into the weekend for both the contest and the individual wagers that wanted to look at some of these underdogs because I thought the gaps between these teams were just that. They were gaps. They were large. But now that we have a lot of these teams that are on par with each other, I do think we're going to start to see these underdogs bark a little bit more and we're going to get back. But you do wonder if, one, the market is going to adjust a little bit stronger towards some of these favorites. And the other part is, what do betters do by the time we get to Thursday and Friday? Will what happened over the first four days of the NCAA tournament carry over? Will favorites get blown up a little bit more from a point spread perspective? and will we maybe get a little bit more value on some of these underdogs as we get closer to tip time? |
| 4:50.9 | But one of the lone favorites that did not get there, the lone favorite on Sunday, we start with the Florida Gators. |
| 4:57.4 | Getting bounced by Iowa on Sunday in a shocking result, Gators end up losing 73 to 72 to the Hawkeyes. I can tell you what went wrong with the Florida Gators, but let's hear from Todd Colden, who had a nice detailed answer on what went wrong for Florida. Offensively, I thought we missed a lot of close range shots that we normally put in. We were a little loose with the basketball in the first half, you know, some uncharacteristic turnovers that you just |
| 5:22.1 | can't make in a game like this. You know, if you want to win, we had two guys step out of bounds in the |
