But we did get news within the last half an hour or so that the Raiders ended up getting

something out of moving off of Gino Smith instead of just having to straight release him,

at least. But sending Gino and a seventh round pick in 2026 to the New York Jets in exchange for a 26th rounder. Doesn't really do much for me, but I kind of feel for Jets fans that they remain in quarterback purgatory for yet another year. The Raiders should be embarrassed by this deal. I mean, sure.

Really?

They stripped off a third round.

They did a lot of other good things at least.

They did, but they shipped off a third round pick for Gino Smith and got the league leader interceptions to wins in a six round pick or seventh, whatever was, in return. So, that whatever. Hey, you can't win them all, I guess. So you get out of the Gino Smith business, I guess the Jets have a new starting quarterback.

That's what it feels like.

Yeah. I mean, what are you going to do? It's year after year. Like, is it Justin Fields? Is it Aaron Rogers? Like, they constantly think that they're just going to bring somebody in that's going to fix it. And I don't foresee that happening. What's interesting, though, is Gino Smith accounted for significantly more interceptions than their defense got last year. Very true. Zero. The Jets defense had as many interceptions as you and I did. Look at it go. The national football league. The, I would assume it was, as we've said, a thousand times. This is just a rough year to be the second overall pick.

There's not that many quarterbacks that are worth a first round pick.

I would argue really outside of Fernando even worth one. Ooh, what? Are you talking about a first round pick or like the number one overall pick? No, no, no. No, I'm saying like in any other year, is he actually your number one overall pick? Probably not. Like next year, absolutely no shot.
