| 2:38.8 | It is a Tuesday, which means Tuesdays with Adam Burke, Veson Managing Editor and MLB analyst. He'll be in studio with us in his usual spot in about 30 minutes. We'll get best bets for today's 15 game MLB card. He also has a new write-up on the website for the Belmont Stakes coming up this weekend, and we'll get his thoughts on the field now that the post-position draw has been held. Yes, and some of the intricacies on what those post-positions mean, if anything. Not, I don't think, as impactful as a race like the Kentucky Derby, but we'll find out. I don't know the answer to those questions. and I, the last time I got to see Adam, presented a Cy Young candidate for him, and he poo-pooed on it. That man pitches today, and he's still pitching pretty well. So we'll see if he still feels the same way. Love it. We will also get into some MVP ladders. JVT is going to get you set with how he sees the NBA Finals. We'll also look at some of the series leaders props with Spurs. Nix getting underway tomorrow night. We had some odds movement as well for game one and the series. And then I'll give you my breakdown for Khan Smythe. Interesting article came out this morning from ESPN's Greg Wyshinsky and one certain player that we've talked a lot about on this show. there's an interesting quote that we will get to a little bit later on. Yeah, you have an advantage here because I'm pretty much reflective of the odds to spoil it because we haven't seen any basketball yet. This is strictly for the NBA finals. Kahn's my through the entirety of the postseason. So there's a lot more body of work, some more data that you can build your ladder off of. And we will update these throughout the course of each of the finals as we go as well. |
| 2:44.4 | But it is game one of the Stanley Cup final coming up tonight in Raleigh. Time to drop the puck. |
| 2:49.7 | We will preview this game in series at length. TNT's Darren Ping was at ice level for numerous games throughout the postseason. |
| 2:51.0 | He's going to join us coming up at 1215 Pacific 315 Eastern. |
| 2:54.3 | The Cains minus 155 favorites for the series. |
| 2:57.2 | Same price at home for game one today. |
| 2:59.3 | According to Evan Abrams, JVT, I did like this one. |
| 3:01.8 | The last favorite of this size to lose in game one of a cup final was the lightning back in 2004. So it does not happen often. And game one, obviously a tone setter for the Stanley Cup final at large. The team that wins game one wins more than 70% of the time for the set. How do you bet series game to game? What do you mean? Personally, like how do you handle it from game to game? Do you get right in a game one? So for me, I've said this before but i like to bet overall series uh and then let the chips fall as in may in terms of the order the way those games will play out but i find it hard to look at game one right now and feel like i have any one edge when you're talking about the way that it's being priced or an advantage for either one of these teams so like i have a series bet i'm just going to sit back and watch and just see how this plays out. But how do you bet these series game to game? At large, it depends. Like earlier on in the postseason, there were some series where I just felt hyper confident in a side and the way that I felt like it was going to go. And then there are some where it's a very similar sentiment to what you just said, where you just kind of sit back and watch game one and see what goes from there. The Colorado Golden Knights series, I think, is a great data point for that, where I went in and I genuinely had no idea what it was going to look like, especially from an injury standpoint. And so I saw game one as a kind of test case study for what we were going to get the rest of the way. And it still was tough to bet the series after that, right? Like I thought there was no way that Colorado was going to go down 02 at home and they end up getting swept in that series. But at least just an example for a data point of how I handle things typically. Meanwhile, there's a series like the Flyers in round one where I just felt hyper confident that they were going to win the set and then knew that I was going to back them in game one when they were at home. Like there are certain things that you can plan out. Do you have that approach in basketball at times? Or is it always kind of a bet the series and then check out game one? I bet the series and then let it follow it. |
