We talked yesterday about how we thought or I thought I think almost everybody agreed with me on the show. They came Newton was the single most interesting NFL free agent remaining on the market.

There are others James Winston and the Dalton that could end up giving other teams help.

But in terms of guys that are out there that are really now on the open market Cam Newton who was released yesterday by the Carolina Panthers after our radio program is now an unrestricted free agent anybody in the entirety of the league is able to sign him.

And yet there still doesn't seem to be very much interest at all in Cam Newton or where he may end up.

And as you look around the NFL and trying contemplate okay who would take Cam Newton.

We're going to get into that in a minute but what I wanted to start with was the latest on just how wild it is that Cam Newton could go from what many of us including me thought was going to be the future of the NFL.

If we went back in time right now to the Super Bowl out in San Francisco between the Denver Broncos and between the Carolina Panthers.

At that point in time Cam Newton was 27 years old I believe on the absolute top of the world his team was 17 and one.

He looked like he was going to become the face of the NFL for years and years and years to come.

He had been absolutely unstoppable that season.

He was the reigning MVP.

He had been to multiple probals it was just guys 2015 when all of that happened.

It was just January of 2016 when he was playing in the Super Bowl.

And you know it's wild to think about how crazy that is to have been a relatively short period of time ago and to have everything fall apart for Cam Newton since then.

I was out there in this the Bay Area we're talking about again January and February of 2016.

Four years ago Cam Newton at 27 years old was on top of the world look to be the face of the NFL I remember the talk out there in San Francisco is that Super Bowl inch closer and closer was the final game of Peyton Manning's career.

There were a lot of people and I was one of them who said you know what Cam Newton may be ready to step on to the stage and take over for Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.
