Hello, for this Moneybox Live podcast, we were thinking there are some words that just go together.

Thunder and lightning, toad in the hole, and more recently turmoil in the mortgage markets.

Yes, the turbulence is continuing.

Mortgage customers face rising rates and vanishing deals and a growing number of households

are struggling to pay at all and they're falling into arrears. We're going to hear from some of those

people in this program. On Thursday, of course, we get the latest decision on interest rates from the Bank of

England. Many people are desperately hoping there might be a fall, especially since inflation

has now dropped to its lowest level in almost two and a half years. So today on the podcast,

we wanted to take a step back and ask, what is going on in the mortgage markets? What do

you need to know and what on earth might happen next?
