Christmas is a time for giving, for sharing and for goodwill to all men and women.

And often that means donating cash.

But this year, fewer people are

supporting good causes. That's according to the Charities Aid Foundation. And that's not because

they've come over all Scrooge. It's because of the rising cost of living, putting the pinch on

their own pockets. But CAF says that while donations are down, a third of charities have seen

demand for their help rise

significantly. So today on Moneybox Live, we're talking about running a charity in a cost of living

crisis. Before we meet today's expert panel, let's hear from some charities. So at Jackson's Animal

Rescue, we rescue both wildlife and domestic animals. Our domestic site is relatively new in mould and

flinchia. It's been open for two years. There we take in cats, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs,

farm animals, basically everything but dogs at the moment because we simply can't afford to

renovate the kennels on site, but hopefully one day dogs. So we're taking in lots and lots of unwanted pets.
