This is Monica Gonzalez here and I wanted to share with you a special message.

This, what we would call holiday season as it relates to celebrating next week, Resurrection Sunday.

But this particular message that I wanted to share is about Palm Sunday.

So we have a great opportunity here to get into the Word and certainly encourage you to share this with those that you

would like to, maybe a Sunday school class or even just a small group or whatever, because we're

going to discuss the background to Palm Sunday, which I think is pretty fascinating. When you think

about Palm Sunday, we often call it Jesus's triumphal entry. But yet what I want to do today is to get

into really behind the saints. I love context, I love the archaeological context, and I want to give you

some of that, really because I think it'll highlight one of the messages, I think, really I would say

the true biblical message that all the gospel writers presented. So if you have your Bibles, I think, really I would say the true biblical message that all the gospel

writers presented. So if you have your Bibles, I'm going to encourage you get them out. We are

going to be in John chapter 12 starting there. And really, the title that I want to show behind

us, or at least the perspective of the PowerPoint, is what does

tabernacles and Hanukkah have to do with Jesus' entry into Jerusalem? Because let's give

a little background here. And what I mean by that is we tend to look backwards. So for us,

when we think about Palm Sunday, looking in reverse time, we're looking through the resurrection.

And then we know that Palm Sunday was roughly six days before or a week before the resurrection.

And so when we think, we tend to think in terms of post-resurrection theology, which is good.

But what I want to do is I want us to go back in time and to understand really

the perspective and the background of a Jewish person, maybe even one of Jesus' disciples,

or certainly the local population that was living there in the time of this Passion Week,

what sometimes Bible teachers will call the Passion Week of Jesus.
