Hollywood, no doubt, has had an influence on at least the image of the motorcycle in the public's eye.

As far back as 1953, we had the Wild One, starring Marlon Brando.

Then in 1963, the Great Escape was Steve McQueen and

although that one's not a motorcycle movie per se it has the famous motorcycle escape

scene in which Steve McQueen is supposedly riding this motorcycle

as it jumps over a fence turns out he he actually wasn't but he did get the credit

for it and everyone says Steve McQueen was you know he's the coolest guy to ever ride a bike in 1969 we have

easy rider with Dennis Hopper Peter Fonda and Jack Nicholson riding those stretched

out choppers across America and then there's a movies that were made for the

motorcyclists like the famous on any Sunday a great flick or the long way

round series and in 2013 there was a release of why we ride. But for

adventure motorcycling the 2004 release of long way round seems to epitomize

what adventure motorcycling is all about to many people and it's talked about

around many campfires but it wasn't the first now probably the original

adventure motorcycling movie was made almost by accident. By an eclectic group of

under-prepared Brits that schemed up a plan to set a world record, a

Guinness Book world record, as they found the longest land route that they would ride on

their motorcycles in the shortest period of time. Well one big thing they overlooked

among many others for this trip was that they were supposed to contact the Guinness

Bueger World Records before they left. They didn't. So the trip was null and void.

But they did film it and they called it Mando and Duro.
