Good morning, everybody, the Simple Handicap for Monday, September 4th. Thank you for making me a part of your morning.

And thank you for kicking off the NFL season for me with season number six here on the Simple Handicap podcast.

If you noticed, the intro to the podcast, a little bit different this year.

Don't know what changed. Really in the off season. I was recording a lot of podcast.

Just got read into it.

Gave you my short thoughts on a lot of different teams with the first take.

Didn't have the big fancy intro to get things going in this episode this morning.

I go to hit record just the exuberant good morning.

It wasn't there.

People are going to be disappointed. That's okay.

I want to talk a little bit about the podcast before we get into it. There were some doubts that

the podcast was coming back. And what I didn't realize was last year in the playoffs when I started

doing the weekly show with guests. I didn't realize people interpreted that

to be that the podcast was ending. That is certainly not the case. Wherever I go, wherever I am

working, whoever I am working with, this podcast is going to be something that I do each and every

morning for each and every one of you. There's two reasons for it. One is that I really,

really enjoy doing it. I love doing this. It allows me to get a lot of thoughts out of my head.

One of my favorite people that I follow on Twitter is not a sports account. It is a female

teacher in the United States that has a book coming out. Her name is Anna Fabrica.

She has a book coming out about learning and teaching kids. And one of her big things is that

thinking gets you all the dots, but writing and speaking connects all the dots. And one of the

things I've always loved about this podcast is I have so many thoughts about the NFL going through my head each and every day that this podcast
