How does God describe what it means to be blessed?

We use that word way too often, don't we?

Oh, what a blessing that I had this or went here or got that raise at work.

And while those things might be a blessing, when God speaks of blessing,

he speaks about it much differently than you and I.

back to today's episode and a brand new episode it is as we start the Book of Psalms. So let me tell you a bit about how we're going to do this.

The Book of Psalms is divided really into five different books when it was originally compiled.

And we're going to cover the first book. So the first book in the Book of Psalms is really chapter three through chapter 41,

Psalm 3 to Psalm 41, and Psalm 1 and Psalm 2 are actually kind of prologue to the book of Psalms.

And we'll talk about that even a little bit more today. But really looking forward to this,

we're calling this series heart to heart. And I love that because really when you read the

book of Psalms, you're reading the raw emotions of human beings as under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, we're seeing this connection to the Lord.

And sometimes people are praying.

Sometimes they're just praising in a poem or a song.

And that's what the book of Psalms is.

It's a collection of poems and songs and prayers. Not everyone
