The European Central Bank could face a major overhaul.

I'm Mark Filipino, and here's the news you need to start your day. Christine Lagarde is expected to face calls to change the way the European Central Bank decides

monetary policy.

The ECB's new president invited the governing council to present ideas on how to improve the Central

Banks internal discussions.

Officials at four of the National Central Banks represented on the council told the FT some of their

proposals, some of which could make the ECB operate a bit more like the U.S. Federal Reserve and the Bank of England.

One proposal is to hold regular votes on monetary policy.

A council member wants to have a vote on every single decision.

Another idea is to stop the ECB president from announcing policy plans before discussing them with

the council. This one came out of a frustration with the ECB's previous president, Mario Draghi, who stepped down last month.
