Let's start today's news with an update on the 2019 death of Ronald Green, a black man

from Louisiana whose death has been under investigation for two years.

I'd like to include a trigger warning on this story for police violence.

Green's family said that they were originally told by Louisiana State Police that Green had

died in a car crash, but nine newly released videos from body cameras and dash cameras

show that that was not the case.

New footage shows parts of a car chase as well as a four minute sequence where police

opened Green's car, and when he's handcuffed on the ground, punched and put him in a choke

hold while he screamed that he was scared.

The troopers appeared to stop beating Green after they handcuffed and leave him on the

ground face down.

As they walk away, one says, you stupid motherfucker.

According to the Louisiana State Police's initial report of Green's death, he was taken into

custody after resisting arrest and after a struggle with troopers.

The report said that Green died while on route to the hospital.

However, new audio reveals one of the officers on a phone call after he finished beating Green,

and the officer can be heard saying, quote, and I beat the ever-living fuck out of him,

choked him and everything else trying to get him under control and we finally got him
