How do you explain Vladimir Putin's ambitions in the Russian invasion of Ukraine?

To put the matter bluntly, it is not going according to plan. But what is or what was

Vladimir Putin's plan? Well what becomes very evident is that Vladimir Putin who was

a KGB agent at the time of the dissolution of the Soviet Empire and the Soviet Union itself,

he believes that Russia has been and is now being robbed of its rightful place among the great nations of the earth.

He looks back to golden moments in Russian history,

the Russian Empire, and yes, even the Soviet Union,
