Before we get to all the headlines, a bunch of people from the sports world celebrating birthdays.

Today, tennis player Andy Murray, football players, Ray Lewis and Emmett Smith, sportscaster Dan Patrick,

and baseball, great George Brett. Happy birthday, all y'all. And in food history, it was on this date,

83 years ago, that the very first McDonald's opened. It was in San Bernardino, California. McDonald's

barbecue was the name of it. May 15th, 1940, the very first Mickey D's. I have a McDonald's story coming up in a few minutes.

All right. Okay, let's go. We jump in. We start with the top story. Today, it's a few updates out of Ukraine.

First, we can start with a meeting between President Villata Mursalinsky and the Pope. They had a

private chat at the Vatican for about 40 minutes. Pope Francis gave the Ukrainian President a bronze sculpture of an olive branch,

which represents peace. Okay, very helpful and a war. Thanks. And last night, Zalinsky made a surprise trip to Paris

to talk with French President Emmanuel Macron. Also, it's reported that four Russian military aircraft were shot down

near the Ukrainian border this weekend. I learned that the plural of aircraft is aircraft. Two fighter jets and two military helicopters,

even though some say it'd be a huge win for Ukraine, calling it the worst day for Russia since the invasion began,

it seems that Ukraine is denying responsibility for that. They said it wasn't them. And some others out there

are implying that Russia may have brought them down intentionally. So who knows? It's hard to know anything, for sure.
