This past weekend, there was a ransomware attack on a major pipeline that's responsible

for transporting roughly 45% of fuel consumed across the East Coast.

According to experts, the attack is unlikely to affect gasoline supply and prices unless

it leads to a prolonged shutdown over five or six days.

However, the Georgia-based company Colonial Pipeline, who owns the pipeline, did not

say what was demanded as ransom or who made the demand.

Colonial Pipeline said the ransomware attack Friday affected some of its information technology

systems and that the company moved proactively to take certain systems offline and that

they're working to resolve the issue.

Hopefully someone will take this as a warning to improve their cybersecurity.

Late last week, reporting dropped that the Trump administration's Justice Department

had secretly obtained Washington Post journalist phone records and tried to obtain their

email records, according to government letters and officials.

Why did they do this?

Because they weren't fans of the reporting that these journalists did regarding Russia's

role in the 2016 election, otherwise known as the Russia Hoax.

The phone records that were taken include the numbers of all the calls made to and from

the targeted phone over the specified time period.

Also how long each call lasted, but the records do not include what was said in the phone
