A 15-year-old student is dead after shooting a teacher out of Texas high school,

according to the local sheriff's office.

Investigators believe the 15-year-old boy shot a female teacher and then killed himself at Hill Country Preparatory High School in Camel County, Texas, north of San Antonio. They don't yet know

what connection the boy and teacher had, but Sheriff Mark Reynolds with a message to parents.

Your kids, your children were protected and they were safe and we will continue to have a presence

as needed while we work through the next steps.

He says a teacher went to a hospital and her condition is not known.
