A tornado ripped through Mississippi on Friday night,

leaving 25 people dead, dozens injured, and over 26,000 without power.

Overall, there were 10 tornadoes confirmed to have hit Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee.

At least one person died in Alabama.

The long-lasting tornado in Mississippi lasted over an hour, which the National Weather Service described as

very rare. Winds up to 170 miles per hour hit the city of rolling fork and flattened most of it.

The tornado was given an EF4 rating. Five is the highest. The president issued emergency declaration for Mississippi just as

another tornado hit Georgia, leaving several people injured, but no fatalities were reported. As of yesterday

afternoon, the National Weather Service said 30 million Southerners were at risk as more storms were hitting the same areas.
