| 0:14.0 | We've got to begin today's edition of the briefing by going to Moscow, |
| 0:17.6 | where a major terrorist attack has killed well over 130 people |
| 0:21.6 | and the death toll is expected to mount in coming days and hours. |
| 0:25.8 | The attack took place last Friday, it took place in Moscow and even as this is big headline |
| 0:31.3 | news, it becomes even more significant when we understand |
| 0:34.3 | the worldview issues that are at stake, and when we also understand that the United States government, |
| 0:39.6 | through its own intelligence gathering, uncovered the likelihood of such a plot and two weeks ago made |
| 0:45.4 | that announcement not just privately to Russian officials but in public. |
| 0:50.2 | And back of that time the Russian government dismissed it as a form of Western paranoia, |
| 0:55.2 | but of course it turns out to be anything but. And very sadly, the deaths of well over 130 people |
| 1:01.4 | now mark what took place when Russia ignored the advisement |
| 1:05.6 | concerning the likelihood of a terrorist strike and right down to an |
| 1:09.1 | entertainment venue. But there are some massive worldview considerations here, and it has a great deal to do with |

| 1:20.2 | The who was attacked in this case is probably largely symbolic. It was a concert venue in Moscow, |
| 1:26.5 | and it was an aging older Moscow-based rock group. And it was one of those mid-level attractions and yet there were thousands of people who were present there. |
