| 0:00.0 | It's Monday, June 6, 2022. I'm Albert Moeller and this is the briefing, a daily analysis of news and events from a Christian worldview. The issue of |
| 0:14.2 | abortion is front and center right now in the American conscience and the |
| 0:18.3 | American consciousness. And of course this comes with massive issues of |
| 0:22.4 | worldview importance and what could be more important in this sense |
| 0:26.2 | as we're thinking about current headlines and the sanctity and dignity of every single human life. |
| 0:31.2 | Well that doesn't just end as an issue with abortion but it |
| 0:34.8 | certainly starts there and as we are looking at headlines right now about abortion the |
| 0:39.2 | big news over the weekend is that two different organizations, the Gallup Organization and the Wall Street Journal, |
| 0:46.0 | have released polls indicating that right now a majority of Americans, more Americans than |
| 0:52.4 | not, say that they support something like a pro-choice |
| 0:56.2 | or some form of a pro-abortion position. |
| 0:59.4 | Now what does that tell us? |
| 1:00.4 | Well for one thing, it tells us that this is where the question stands in this kind of nationwide |
| 1:06.0 | sample right now. |
| 1:08.4 | But looking at both of these studies, what's most interesting is the fact that both of them indicate a change and in both of them a change that probably |
| 1:16.3 | is coming after the leaked Supreme Court document that would represent a reversal of Roe v. Wade and thus a completely different constitutional |
| 1:27.1 | and legal order in the United States, at least at the national level when it comes to abortion. |
| 1:32.3 | Something else we need to recognize is that the most cited of these surveys or polls |
| 1:37.0 | comes from the Gallup organization and that's the longest standing American public opinion firm, and it goes back to George Gallup it goes back to the rise of this kind of statistical |
| 1:47.6 | opinion study in the United States in the 20th century one of the things we shall see is that there are huge worldview |
| 1:54.1 | issues here. There are also just some huge mathematical or survey instrument |
| 1:58.9 | issues for us to address. But first of all, let's just look at the story. |
