The Core 4. The four headlines you need to know. Gun violence continues to dominate the headlines as we enter the summer months where more and more people will be outdoors and at large gatherings. On Saturday night, several shooters were allegedly involved in an incident

that left three dead and about a dozen wounded on South Street in Philadelphia. Authorities believe

that at least one of the people killed was involved in a physical altercation that turned

into gunfire. The victims of the Philadelphia shooting ranged from 17 to 69 years old.

Meanwhile, in Chattanooga, Tennessee,

Mayor Tim Kelly, who describes himself as an avid hunter and gun owner, is calling on Congress

to enact common-sense gun regulations after the most recent shooting in Chattanooga, left three

dead and at least 14 injured outside of a nightclub a little more than 24 hours ago.

Chaos ensued after the gunshots rang out and saw 14 people hit by gunfire while three

people were hit by vehicles trying to flee the area. Several of the wounded victims remain in

critical condition. The Special Olympics have dropped their COVID vaccine mandate for its games in Orlando after Florida threatened to fine the organization $27.5 million for violating a state law.

Florida law bars businesses from requiring documentation of a COVID-19 vaccine.

The $27.5 million fine would be for 5,500 violations if the

Special Olympics didn't drop the mandate. The games began yesterday and will go until June 12th,

and you can watch them on ESPN 2, ESPN3, or the ESPN app.

Today marks the 78th anniversary of D-Day, where Allied troops in World War II landed on and stormed the beaches of Normandy, France.
