Today we jump into the trial of Pilate. What a trial it was. Bottom line is Jesus did not defend

himself. Jesus allowed all the false information, all the hatred to present itself against him,

and Jesus submitted to the way of the cross. What a, what an example of what it is to submit to the

We are in Matthew 27, as most of you know,

and we're in this section of the scripture where Jesus is finally standing trial. Now,

he's faced the kind of the kangaroo court at Caiaphas' house in the middle of the night, the early wee hours of the morning.

But now as day breaks, he is heading to the house or the hall of Pilate.

We talked a bit about that could have been the Antonio Fortress.

It could have been the governor's palace.

And regardless of the location, Jesus stood before the governor.

That's verse 11.

And the governor, this is Pontius Pilate, asked him saying, are thou the king of the Jews?

Because that was the accusation that was brought before Pilate.

Remember what they indicted jesus for at caiaphas's house was blasphemy declaring to be messiah declaring to be the

son of god and but the way they kind of spin it with the roman government is he's an insurrectionist

he is claiming to be a king,

and that is going to cause political unrest. They're really just trying to manipulate

pilot to their cause, and are thou the king of the Jews, and Jesus said unto him,
