| 0:21.0 | it actually became one in the year 1983 when then President |
| 0:25.7 | Ronald Reagan signed the legislation. Martin Luther King Jr's birthday is |
| 0:30.4 | actually on January the 15th. He was born in the year 1929 on that date. But given |
| 0:37.5 | the Uniform Monday Holidays Act passed by Congress that took effect in 1971. |
| 0:43.8 | Martin Luther King Jr. Day, like several other holidays, |
| 0:46.9 | is observed on the Monday closest to the particular date |
