Summary

Does looking at others' social media posts make you question what you are doing or rethink your current plan of action? Do you struggle with feeling pressure and comparison as you scroll? As I was working on my book this summer, it became very clear that social media was hindering my progress so I took a sabbatical. I realized that I needed to get my feelings of validation from Jesus, not Facebook. I want to encourage you to take a look at your current habits and then take a break. Whether it is for 2 months or 2 hours, take time away. The bottom line is to not let the noise of social media drown out what you need to hear from the Lord.

0:31.6	social media sabbatical that I took and kind of give
0:35.1	you some of my thoughts on it and why I took it, maybe encourage you to kind of consider
0:41.7	doing the same.
0:42.8	So a couple weeks ago, I was knee deep in needing
0:47.0	to get my book written.
0:48.5	I have a book deadline that is coming up.
0:51.5	We are publishing our first, my first book was Zondervyn in the spring and
0:57.2	quick little plug for pre-orders coming in November.
1:00.1	And so I was needing to just really buckle down and get about the business of writing the words.
1:08.3	And what I know sometimes happens with me is I I can be on social media and I can be seeing what
1:15.7	other people are doing and I can start to feel like huh that's different than the
1:20.6	way I do it and then the rabbit trail that my vain imagination
1:25.0	wants to take me on is, therefore I must be doing it wrong.
