Summary

Hey friend, if you haven't already listened to Monday Fire Episode 116, we're going to piggyback off that – so start there! Scripture doesn't say that money is the root of all evil. Scripture says that the LOVE of money is the root of all evil. It is possible to have money and not make money an idol in your life. Bitterness towards people who have more than you do doesn't set you up for more. Be faithful with what you have. Shift your mindset about money! We can start by reading what the bible actually says about money.

0:44.0

I talked about why it's hard sometimes for women who are in business and it could even be outside of business.

0:50.0

Honestly, it's hard for you to keep money and some of the weird money mindset stuff that we have, which causes us to feel like money is kind of like a hot potato and maybe consciously or subconsciously we end up giving it away, spending it all.

1:04.0

You know, maybe we feel weird about having money, good girls, you know, don't talk about money, good Christian girls don't have a lot of money, like any of those things, there's can be a lot of weirdness, right.

1:12.0

And so this is kind of a piggyback off of that because I want to talk about the scripture that talks about the love of money being the root of all evil.

1:22.0

Okay, so let's talk about this.

1:24.0

There are times that people miss quote that scripture and they say money is the root of all evil and that is not what the scripture says the scripture says that the love of money is the root of all evil, which can also, I mean, you can paraphrase that into like the obsession of or the making it into an idol or, you know, the complete focus on because I also says that God can or we cannot serve God and me a minute at the same time, which means God money like one has to be what we serve and the other one.

1:49.0

This is what it is, right. And so there's, you guys are so many scriptures in the Bible about money and I think it's because God knew we were going to stumble on this.

1:57.0

Because I think it's really easy to say with our mouth, God, we trust you, but the truth is, is when our account is negative or when we have $5 left in the account, we've got to make the mortgage. And by the way, I've been in those positions, okay.

2:09.0

It's easy to say I trust you and it's harder to do when you're feeling the squeeze financially, am I right. Am I the only one that's felt the squeeze financially. I mean, it was just a decade ago that Jason and I we didn't have any money.

2:23.0

And, you know, we lived in a decent house, we had decent vehicles, but we also were maxed out on credit cards. It's just it was what it was.

2:30.0

And is it, you know, fun to talk about now. No, but I I think we need to like that people need to hear other people's stories to know that a there is hope that wherever you are currently stuck may not be where you are always stuck.

2:43.0

B that you can go from having nothing to having money and still be a decent kind at least I hope, you know, human being.

2:53.0

And and just to give others like encouragement and just for you guys to know what's possible.

2:59.0

Because I think it's easy for people to talk about money if they've never not had it. It's way more believable if you talk to somebody who didn't have money, because here's my story.

3:10.0

You know, right out of high school stuff. I started working. I was raised in a house where you work. You work. And I'm so glad that my parents gave me that work ethic.

3:18.0

And so I always had money. Then got married, had no money. Then we had a little bit of money. Then we had no money. And now we have, you know, what we have. And so I've been we've been back and forth. I need you to know that I've been on an 800 number with Dave Ramsey.
