Congratulations, you've now made it to the week of Trump's second Senate trial, making

him the first president to ever have a second impeachment trial, and you, one of the first

people to ever watch a president be tried twice.

The trial is set to start tomorrow.

It's unclear how long it will take, but both leaders Schumer and McConnell have signaled

that they would like it to proceed quickly, as in under two weeks.

As a reminder, 67 senators are required to convict Trump in order to prevent him from

running for office again.

In case you're wondering which direction the Senate is likely to vote in, here's an anecdote.

Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney went on Fox News Sunday to defend her impeachment

vote in the House, saying that, quote, people have been lied to.

The extent to which the president, President Trump for months leading up to January 6th,

spread the notion that the election had been stolen or the election was rigged was a lie,

and people need to understand that, unquote.

This TV interview came just one day after being censored by the Republican Party in her home

state of Wyoming for voting against Trump.

The resolution said that the Wyoming Republican Party won't raise money for her going forward,

and requests that she would pay state party donations made to her 2020 campaign.

So I'll let you all decide what that might mean for how the Senate is likely to vote in

Trump's trial.
