We're starting today with some updates from Friday.

First in Minneapolis, a 22-year-old black man named Amir Locke was shot and killed by police

while sleeping.

Police entered the apartment on a no-knock warrant, startling Amir and claiming that they shot

him because he reached for a firearm.

Also from the police cameras showed that they did not in fact knock before entering, but

unlock the door themselves at 6.28 a.m. local time.

Locke had no criminal history and had legally acquired his firearm.

Since the incident, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Fry imposed a moratorium on no-knock warrants

and hundreds of people gathered in Minneapolis to protest.

It's almost like the city and its law enforcement have changed absolutely nothing since the

last time they did this exact thing.

Just on Friday, the Republican National Committee formally censored representatives Adam

Kinzinger and Liz Cheney, claiming that they were, quote, participating in a Democrat-led

persecution of ordinary citizens engaged in legitimate political discourse.

By legitimate political discourse, they are of course referring to the events of January

6th.

So I guess now, building gallows to hang the vice president from your own party goes under

normal political discourse.

It's honestly hard to believe that it was less than a decade ago that I thought it was

...
