It's first thing with Kevin Manoe. A few celebrity birthdays today before we jump

Ashley Axel Rose, Kathene Jimmy.

She's one of the Sanderson sisters. And long time newsman Tom Brokhar.

I remember watching him when I was a kid. He is 83 years old today.

Right. Okay, let's go. There's so much to get through today.

I always start with the top story today. I have a couple things to mention here.

At the beginning of the show first, early this morning, a very powerful 7.8 magnitude

earthquake hit Turkey and Syria. Hundreds of buildings came down and it's

currently reported that more than 600 lives were lost with hundreds more trapped

under rubble. This earthquake was followed by at least 20 aftershocks.

The strongest of them was a 6.6. I mean, this is just just tragic.

Keep those people in your thoughts today. It's a rough one.

The other story I wanted to mention here, the one that dominated our news cycle all

weekend was the balloon. First, we spotted this suspected Chinese spy balloon.

China said it was a weather balloon that everyone online was arguing about the balloon.

Then we popped the balloon off the coast of the Carolinas.

This was President Biden statement immediately after it was taken out.
