I'm Paige Browning with the roundup of today's top stories.

It's Monday, February 2nd.

Starting with reaction after two Seattle public school students were shot and killed on Friday. The shooting happened at a bus stop near

Rainier Beach High School after school got out. SPS Superintendent Ben Sholderner talked with

KUOW the night of the shooting.

What occurred is terrible. What occurred is horrible. And we have to do a better job as a school district.

We have to do a better job as a community. But what it also should be is a clarion call for action. We as a district, we as a community, need to figure out a way to help to stop things

like this occurring. Police are still searching for the suspect and asking anyone with

information to contact the Seattle Police tip line. Seattle Police Chief, Sean Barnes, says

the city is grieving after these recent gun deaths. and he's speaking out about gun violence today.

And they gathered for a vigil to honor the families and victims and to comfort each other, and also to call for change.

But less than 48 hours later, another young man was killed after a party. Three others were hospitalized after being shot.
