A rare December tornado outbreak swept across six states Friday night and into Saturday

morning.

The storm spawned multiple tornadoes and left a path of devastation in its wake.

Experts think that one of them dubbed the Quad State tornado made its way across four

states in four hours.

The National Weather Service will confirm if it was one continuous twister.

If it was, it will set the record for the longest long track tornado in U.S. history.

Twelve people died across Illinois, Arkansas, and Tennessee, and at least 70 people lost

their lives in Kentucky.

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear said he expects that number to grow as more than 50 people

are still missing.

The majority of those missing were working in a now destroyed candle factory in one of

the hardest hit cities may field Kentucky.

Governor Beshear activated the Kentucky National Guard to help respond to clearing a state

of emergency.
