Let's get into the news.

First up, Afghanistan is on its first full week of Taliban rule.

With President Biden promising American troops will stay in the country until all Americans

are out, which he doesn't think will take longer than his August 31st deadline.

But if it does, he'll leave the troops there until the job is done.

The U.S. ordered six commercial airlines to help with the transport over the weekend.

As for Afghans who helped the U.S., Secretary Blinken said over the weekend that 13 countries

have agreed to take Afghans who fear reprisal from the Taliban.

A NATO diplomat says 20 people have died in the past seven days in and around the Kabul

airport during the evacuation process.

In more alarming, President Biden warned of a potential terror threat on the airport

by an extremist group known as ISIS-K.

ISIS-K, I thought we just defeated ISIS-A.

As a result of the chaos, a new NBC News poll has President Biden's job approval rating

below 50 percent for the first time, with only 25 percent of Americans saying they approve

of his handling of Afghanistan.

His approval rating is still higher than Donald Trump's ever was for the duration of his

presidency.

That's winning the popular vote for ya.
