and it is Monday, and thank you for joining us. It's been a very busy weekend and a busy morning.

Gender is standing by tracking the very latest on the severe weather, tornadoes, and wildfires.

We're going to begin with the shooting at the White House Correspondence dinner.

President Trump was on stage in the hotel ballroom with the First Lady.

When the shooter charged past the security checkpoint, shots rang out, one hit a secret service officer in his bulletproof vest.

But thankfully he is okay.

The suspected gunman was quickly subdued, taken into custody.

He is expected to appear in court today to face federal charges.

We have team coverage this morning with the latest on the investigation of what we're learning about the suspect.
