People say not to harp on the past too much, but we simply must start today's episode

with breaking news from Friday.

Julie obtained audio by The New York Times reveals that Trump told Kevin McCarthy

a few days after January 6th that he acknowledged he bore, quote, some responsibility for the

events that day.

This marks the first piece of evidence that Trump may have admitted any amount of culpability

for the insurrection.

In the tapes, McCarthy himself acknowledged that Trump was definitely responsible, and

said that he planned to tell him to resign.

And we don't need a tape to tell us how that went.

After this weekend, member of the House January 6th Committee, Jamie Raskin, said that

the committee will hold hearings in June, and that the testimony will, quote, blow the

roof off the house, just like a club promoter who wants you to come to his table tonight.

He specified that on January 6th, Vice President Mike Pence refused to get in the car with

Trump's secret service detail.

With Raskin saying, quote, he knew exactly what this inside coup they had planned for was

going to do.
