I'm Carla Marie and today is Monday, April 22nd, 2024. The Core 4, the four headlines you need to know. It's very clear that we want our pilots to be awake when working, our flight attendants to be awake when working, but what about our air traffic controllers? Because up until now, they didn't have the same rest requirements as pilots and flight attendants. The FAA has announced new rules for air traffic

controllers. They must have 10 hours of rest between shifts rather than nine hours, and they'll

need 12 hours of rest before a midnight shift. This comes after two passenger jets came within 400 feet of colliding last week

when controllers sent the two planes to the same runway. The goal of the new requirements is to

reduce fatigue among controllers and reduce the chance of mistakes. Well, it happened.

Our elected officials finally got together in Washington, D.C. and got something done. They passed a bunch of bills over the weekend that resulted in approving $95 billion in foreign aid,

mainly to Ukraine, Israel, and American allies in the Pacific like Taiwan.
