Giovanni Van Brancurst is no longer the Rangers manager after being sacked just over a year into the job.

He led the club to a European final and won a Scottish Cup,

but he's paid the price for recent poor results and performances domestically and in Europe.

And the question now, who is next for the Rangers hot seat with various names already being suggested.

I'm Gordon Duncan, and joining me tonight is Kenny Miller and Hugh Keevins.

You could argue Giovanni Van Brunkhurst proves that nice guys don't win,

but he took the job last season when Rangers were top of the league,

and Celtic won the title.

He had a disastrous Champions League this season,

finishing in the humiliation of being the worst ever competitors in the group stage phase of the tournament. And he leaves with Celtic nine points in front after 15 games of this season's championship. Seville and that Europa League final against Eintrach Frankfurt, that doesn't count.

It's an irrelevance because he didn't win that either.
