An update on Elon Musk's brain implant technology, some slightly bizarre anxiety-reducing exercises,

Here are some of the cool things from the news today.

On Friday afternoon, Elon Musk updated the world on his Neurrelink company, which is building an implantable brain machine interface or BMI.

Or, as Musk described it on Friday, kind of like a fit bit in your skull.

This was the first major update since last year when Neurlink first shared details on their work.

Last year, the concept was described as a

small device that would be implanted behind a person's ear, with a small hole drilled into the skull

and wires going across the surface of the brain. But now, quoting Ars Technica, as in the old

design, roughly 1,000 electrodes will be inserted into the targeted collection of neurons,

and those will connect to an implant above the surface of the brain.

But in this case, they'll do so by the shortest route possible,

eliminating the need to run the wires across the surface of the brain.

The behind-ear hardware is gone as well.
