| 0:51.6 | Yeah. So as you said, I was on a school board. And so I just don't even know how this guy got his job, |
| 0:58.4 | because there is such a thorough vetting process with anyone that's going to be around children nowadays. |
| 1:04.0 | Of course there is. But for a superintendent of schools, there's extra layers of that. |
| 1:08.4 | All of the elected school board members need to be held accountable |
| 1:13.0 | for this. And I had mentioned it the other day. So when I was on the school board here in Florida, |
| 1:17.9 | about twice the size of the Des Moines School District that this is the superintendent of, |
| 1:23.8 | I actually used to go into school board meetings hours early and ask for the personnel files, |
| 1:28.9 | background checks and everything on every single leader in the district that we were voting |

| 1:34.4 | And so we had 9,000 employees. |
| 1:35.4 | So it wasn't all the employees I did that for, but every principal, every vice principal, |
| 1:40.3 | anybody in leadership and absolutely a superintendent candidate. So we used to hire a third-party firm. |
| 1:46.6 | I think that's what most school districts do. They do background checks. They do research. |
| 1:50.1 | They usually have a pool of candidates that they are constantly checking on and checking in with |
